Ashurst CE Aided Primary School - Our Vision

Through our core values of Love, Hope and Joy we nurture and support our
children to become well rounded, successful, confident and responsible; children
who aspire to achieve their full potential and are connected to, and concerned
about God’s world. Our vision is rooted in the biblical text found in 1 John 3:18

“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in words.”

We translate this into practice by being ambitious in growing an inclusive
community of adventurous learners who are skilled and concerned enough to
connect to a world that needs them.

We strive to support and nurture our children to be lifelong learners by:

                                       • Developing a creative, coherently sequenced curriculum that celebrates cultural diversity and is literacy rich.

                                       • Signposting authentic connections between past and future learning.

                                       • Ensuring a wide range of first-hand learning experiences that inspire curiosity and develop children’s knowledge and skills.

We express this vision by weaving it into our daily life so it is evident in our
teaching and in our actions.

We strengthen the bonds of faith, share our ethos and open doors to communities
through awe and wonder worship, prayer, celebrations and charitable works. By
working together through school and community events we engage with our
neighbours and wider communities.

Our vision is the core thread, the substance which enables us to compare and
develop the story of Ashurst that we carry in our hearts, with the facts that we
carry in our heads.
